Gourmet food and wine lovers... you are set to enjoy a
smorgasbord of new culinary delights during Fiesta...! a month-long
celebration in the Fleurieu region... Region-wide events focus on
fresh tastes in the Fleurieu... latest release wines and new season’s extra
virgin olive oil...
Fiesta!
signature projects include the inaugural Olive Awards to assess regional olive
oils, and Chapel Hill Gourmet Retreat's Culinary Competition in which local
chefs raise the culinary stakes to win the title Fleurieu Peninsula Food Chef of
the Region.
Fiesta!
was an initiative of event partners Fleurieu Peninsula Food,
Fleurieu Peninsula Tourism, Langhorne Creek Winemakers, Fleurieu Peninsula Olive
Association and McLaren Vale Grape Wine Tourism in 2004.
The whole Fleurieu Peninsula is working together
to promote what is at the heart of the region... seasonal celebrations of food
and wine...
Fiesta!
will showcase the McLaren Vale Wine Region, the Fleurieu Peninsula and South
Australia as producers of the highest level of culinary art...
Fiesta!
has a taste for all palates... restaurants, cellar doors, retail outlets
and groups across the Fleurieu Peninsula will celebrate the new release wines
and new season’s extra virgin olive oil, with... showcasing,
tasting, cooking demonstrations, food and wine matching, picnics, feasts,
awards, and much conviviality!
Food, wine, bus tours,
music, art... A month-long celebration in the Fleurieu region...!
Drawing on the long tradition of Vintage Fetes,
Harvest Festivals and the McLaren Vale Bushing Festival, local celebrations
continue with Fiesta!
This is the time to get down to the Fleurieu! All around the
region you’ll find olive oil showcasing, tastings and the opportunity to
purchase the new season’s products at great prices. Remember, unlike wine, olive
oil doesn’t improve with age, so fresh is best!
Can’t wait to savour those fresh, pungent aromas? Throughout the
year, you can purchase bottles of the purest extra-virgin oil and the tastiest
pickled olives at the Willunga Farmers’ Market, Saturdays from 8.00am – 12.30pm.
