Willunga Christmas Tree Festival... 4th & 5th December, 2010

 

Hosted by the Willunga Uniting Church and symbolising new life in Christ... the 8th Annual Willunga Christmas Tree Festival, 2010...  sees the return of teams and individuals who seek to create a Christmas Tree for the exhibition.  Each year, interest in the festival grows with a fantastic input from across the community, including businesses and school entries... to display over fifty Christmas trees.

 

Programme...

Venue...  Willunga Uniting Church, cnr St Judes St, St Andrew's Terrace, Willunga...

Open Festival Weekend...  Saturday 4th and Sunday 5th December, 2010, 10am to 4pm...

Community Carol Evening... Saturday 4th December, 2010… 7.30pm  In the Bell Paddock, opposite the church.

Church Service...  Sunday 5th, 10am

 

...includes Devonshire Teas, trail for kids, goodies for sale...

Come and enjoy the morning or afternoon Devonshire teas...  a stall of tasty Christmas fare, handcrafted gifts and decorations.

Entry: Adults $3 / Children Free.

There will be a Christmas trail for the kids... follow the bells this year!

Part proceeds of the festival go towards the Christmas Bowl appeal - an Act for Peace charity.

It is also an opportunity to view our lovely, upgraded facilities.

 

...The Popular Vote...

All trees will be judged.  Also you can have fun voting for your favourite tree in the Popular Vote Competition.

 

...and Willunga Community Christmas Carols in the Park... Saturday, 4th December 7.30pm

The popular community carol evening will again be held in the Bell Paddock, Willunga.  Choirs, Big Bands & more.

Celebrate the true meaning of Christmas... symbolised in the Christmas Tree... new LIFE in Christ...

Join in the family fun... glitter, colour... handicraft Christmas gifts...

How wonderful the hall and church looks filled with Christmas Trees... with a variety of ideas, decorations, shapes and sizes. The trees are created by people of all ages, from children in childcare...  community groups... businesses... to aged care residents.  Congratulations Willunga!

 

...and Tours from Monday to Thursday...

Tours by appointment are available from Monday 6th to Thursday 9th December this year.  Get a group together, hire a bus and visit Willunga for the day.  Start with Willunga's Christams Tree Festival and Devonshire morning tea, then book into one of the many eateries for lunch and wander the specialty shops, cellar doors and providores as well as the art studios of country Willunga.  Arrange a tour of the Willunga National Trust Museum and finish with organic coffee or tea at one of the little shops.  Be sure to drive around Willunga and admire the old cottages, slate rooves and country gardens before heading home.
