Almond Blossom Festival - Willunga...  end of July

The main festival weekend is calculated to fall the day after the last Friday in July.

Willunga Almond Blossom Festival Events are to raise money for the Willunga Recreation Park while providing attendees with a memorable experience. The complex provides facilities for our sporting groups, clubs, schools, entertainment, meetings, markets, festivals, fairs and weddings.

Willunga and District residents use the facilities either directly through sporting and recreational clubs and school students directly through school activities or residents use it indirectly through community and school events.

Mission Statement...

Two fold...

• To raise money for Recreation Park's general maintenance and development.

• To Celebrate and promote the unique history, culture and community that IS Willunga

Artisans Market...   Willunga    2nd Saturday, 9am-1pm

Show Hall, Recreation Park, Main Rd, Willunga.

The Willunga Artisans Market arose from the necessity to find a display and sales outlet for quality original art and craft.

The first markets have been very successful, and the feedback from locals and visitors has been positive and encouraging. The rapid growth of the artisan community in the area and the excellent market location combine to promise a vibrant future.

There are some 20 stall holders who sell a variety of high quality and unique hand made products such as ceramics wood art, photographic art, jewellery, glass art, textile and fibre art, printmaking, acrylic and watercolour arts, paper craft and sculpture. These artisans are all based in the Onkaparinga and Fleurieu regions, in accordance with the market's aim to support and promote the development of local art.

Entry is free of charge and visitors are welcome to meet the makers in a friendly atmosphere.

ChalkFest - Willunga... unless someone  wishes to continue this event, 2009 is the last

ChalkFest showcases some amazing local talent.  The first year was musical talent, now it is short film.  Competition forms are available on the ChalkFest website.  This event is growing bigger each year with an ever increasing standard.

This festival is proving very popular.  We are most grateful to all clubs and organizations that have contributed.  A beautiful selection of trees and displays is created and all clubs, organizations and individuals are invited to contribute.
